The Agpeya.
The Agpeya is the Coptic Orthodox book of hours — seven canonical hours that pray through the day, each tied to a moment in the Lord's Passion and Resurrection. Here's which hour the Church keeps right now, and how each one is prayed.

How every hour is prayed
The Agpeya gives each hour the same shape.
- The opening — “In the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one God. Amen.”
- The Prayer of Thanksgiving — “Let us give thanks to the beneficent and merciful God…”
- Psalm 50 — “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your great mercy.”
- The Psalms of the hour — a fixed set, each hour its own.
- The Gospel of the hour, followed by its Litanies.
- “Lord, have mercy” (Kyrie eleison) — forty-one times.
- The Trisagion & the Lord's Prayer, then the Absolution of the hour.
The seven hours & the Veil
An overview companion, not the prayer text itself — for the full Psalms, Gospels, and absolutions, pray from the Agpeya. Commemorations follow the Coptic Orthodox tradition.
